Woman of Excellence - St Joan of Arc

Saint Joan was born on January 6, 1412, in the village of Domremy to Jacques and Isabelle d'Arc. Joan was the youngest of their five children. While growing up among the fields and pastures of her village, she was called Jeannette but when she entered into her mission, her name was changed to Jeanne, la Pucelle, or Joan, the Maid.

Joan fought for what she believed in, and in the end justice was served. She fought on the battlefield with all of her courage and might, and she died with her pride and honor for what she believed in. While Joan of arc was a very admirable woman, she was also born during a battle, was called upon by saints, fought to defend her country and people, and was punished and killed for her decisions.

Hey Karen. Thanks for dropping by. I appreciate your comment. There's another movie about St Joan out there but I think it's got too much violence so I decided to play the Leelee Sobrieski version. I have to apologize to you and the whole class for the technical problems and the lack of subtitles. Dont worry. We're just getting started. You'll find it easier as we move along.
